About - Catherine Sinclair

‘Awaken your spirit to adventure; Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk.’ John O'Donohue

Moving from Edinburgh to the remote north west coast of Scotland four years ago has impacted my design work remarkably. Living on the side of a loch surrounded by the most dramatic scenery has inspired me to work in a bolder, more instinctive manner. Daily life here is greatly affected by the weather; something that can change considerably in a very short time. In addition people visiting have shared their desire for escape, adventure and simplicity. I have channelled this sense of the unexpected to take more risks with colour, materials and new technology to design knitted fabrics for interiors that embrace the spirit of surprise and spontaneity.

Together with Mike, we also own and run Kylesku Lodges, ten A-frame cabins on the North West Coast of Scotland, where you can experience some of Cove's innovative textiles first hand. Kylesku is a fantastic base to explore some amazing beaches, hidden waterfalls, outstanding wildlife and numerous walks to suit all ages. We are also a short walk to the award winning restaurant and pub situated within the Kylesku Hotel.
