‘Awaken your spirit to adventure; Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk.’ John O'Donohue
Moving from Edinburgh to the remote north west coast of Scotland six years ago has impacted my design work remarkably. Living on the side of a loch surrounded by the most dramatic scenery has inspired me to work in a bolder, more instinctive manner. Daily life here is greatly affected by the weather; something that can change considerably in a very short time. In addition people visiting have shared their desire for escape, adventure and simplicity. I have channelled this sense of the unexpected to take more risks with colour, materials and new technology to design knitted fabrics for interiors that embrace the spirit of surprise and spontaneity.
