WASHING WOOL

A huge advantage of wool is that it only needs washed if it gets dirty. To remove smells, it is better to just air it for a day or two.

All our knitted lambswool products should be hand washed in lukewarm water with a delicate detergent suitable for wool. Very gently move the item in the water, taking care not to rub or agitate. Rinse in the same temperature, to avoid shrinkage or felting. Once rinsed, very carefully squeeze out the excess water. Do not wring, instead roll in a towel to gently remove excess water. Allow to dry flat away from direct heat. Once dry, press with an iron on a low heat.

YARNS

All our products are knitted in Scotland using the highest quality Geelong lambswool, from farms in South Africa and Australia, with exceptionally high animal welfare standards. They are guaranteed to be mulesing free. These yarns are dyed and spun in Kinross, Scotland. The yarn is dyed using GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) approved dyes which allows the water used from Loch Leven to be cleaned and returned to the loch on completion of dyeing process.

We use a small amount of elastic in some of our designs which comes from Italy.

MANUFACTURE

We strongly believe in supporting the UK Textile industry, working work with a small facility in Ayrshire, who understand the elemental qualities of the yarns we use. Our pieces are knitted on state of the art knitting machines and hand finished in our studio in Kylesku.
